An autopsy on an 8-month-old boy who died Saturday has been completed, but the cause and manner of death are still pending, according to a Kern County Sheriff's coroner's office news release.
On Saturday, Alfredo Jesus Jacobo, of Bakersfield, died at Children's Hospital Central California in Madera. He had been taken to the hospital after an incident Sept. 17 in the 3000 block of Lake Street, the coroner's office has said.
The autopsy was completed Monday, but cause and manner of death are pending microscopic studies, according to the news release.
The sheriff's office is still investigating the circumstances surrounding Jacobo's death, said Ray Pruitt, spokesman for the sheriff's office. He said he could not elaborate on the investigation.
