A suspect in the 2010 murder of a reserve Kern County Sheriff's deputy was found guilty by a jury Thursday, according to a Kern County District Attorney's office news release.
Jesus Aragon was found guilty in the murder of Francisco Flores. The jury also found that Aragon personally shot the gun that killed Flores.
On July 18, 2010, Flores was working as a security supervisor at the Mercado Latina Plaza on Edison Highway. Flores had kicked Aragon and his group out of the plaza for causing a disturbance at the Tacos Los Amigos restaurant. An hour later, Aragon returned to the parking lot to challenge the security team. Aragon opened fire near the south parking lot, and Flores suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
At the time, two other suspects were wanted in connection with the murder.
