Supervisor-elect Leticia Perez is reporting an additional campaign debt of $29,000 that should have been reported in statements filed in late July.
Perez called The Californian Wednesday to update the record and said her campaign became aware of the omission on Monday. She pledged to file a corrected copy of her campaign finance report with the Kern County Elections Division within the week.
The extra debt, she said, was incurred through her campaign consultant Richie Ross for mailings sent out at the very end of the campaign.
That brings her campaign's current debt to about $63,800 -- substantially more than the $34,000 in debt her opponent Supervisor Karen Goh owes her campaign consultant, Mark Abernathy.
