A California City High School math teacher was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of having "an ongoing sexual relationship" with three students.
California City police arrested Amber Failla, 36, at her Tehachapi home on suspicion of oral copulation with minors under the age of 16 and sending explicit matter to minors, according to a California City Police Department news release. Police also served a search warrant and seized computers and cellphones from the home.
The news release said the investigation is still in progress because police are "piecing together" Failla's alleged sexual relationship with her students that goes back more than one year.
Sgt. Shannon Hayes said Failla was booked into the Kern County jail in Bakersfield, but as of 9:30 p.m. she was not listed on the Kern County Sheriff's Department's inmate website.
