A man accused of posing as a woman to lure victims and then sexually assault them pleaded not guilty to nine felonies Friday afternoon.
Cecilio Vasquez, 48, remains in jail on $750,00 bail since being arrested Wednesday in connection with three sexual assaults. The most recent incident happened Tuesday night, when a 16-year-old male reported that he had been sexually assaulted near the intersection of Ming Avenue and Stine Road, according to Bakersfield police.
Vasquez said his name was "Sabrina," asked for directions and then asked the teen to walk with him, police said. He then produced a knife and sexually assaulted the victim, according to police.
Vasquez is charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, two counts of sexual penetration with force, two counts of oral copulation by force, oral copulation with a child under 14 years old and possession of ammunition by a felon, according to the Kern County Superior Court website.
A pre-preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 25.
