Recording artist Boz Scaggs called into "First Look with Scott Cox" Monday to talk about his tour and an upcoming show at Rabobank Theater.

It's at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, with Michael McDonald. They've toured together for about four years now.

Talking via a spotty cell phone connection from Portland, Ore., Scaggs said he's enjoying touring, and he's been remembering why he does it -- he loves music.

"I am really working with some of the musicians I most admire and whose musical background is somewhat similar to my own," Scaggs said. He called it a "treat."

Scaggs said he is fortunate to work with some "very fine musicians."

Simulcast host Scott Cox, for his part, said Scaggs has had "monster hits."

"The soundtrack to my whole life has Boz Scaggs in there," Cox said.

He added: "Thanks for all the awesome music you've put in my ears over the years."
