The WWE's Smackdown brand returns to Rabobank Arena on Sunday as part of the company's "Road to WrestleMania Tour." Among those on the card that night will be 2012 Royal Rumble winner Sheamus.
As a child growing up in his native Ireland, Sheamus would creep through his home at 2 a.m. to watch the Royal Rumble on television.
"We were five hours ahead of the United States, so the show would start in the middle of the night," the former two-time WWE champion recalled. He dreamt of one day winning the WWE's annual 30-man over-the-top-rope match.
Sheamus realized that dream on Jan. 29 when he eliminated Chris Jericho to win the 25th installment of the match. The victory earned him a spot in the main event at WrestleMania in April against either the WWE or the World Heavyweight Champion.
But first, Sheamus will have to get through former WWE champion Alberto Del Rio Sunday night. Other scheduled rivalries include Randy Orton facing Wade Barrett in a steel cage match and Daniel Bryan putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against The Big Show.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the arena box office or through Ticketmaster.com.
