Johnson takes over girls basketball program at Independence

Nate Johnson quickly realized that he isn’t one for relaxation, well, not just yet.

After stepping down as the athletic director at Independence at the end of the school year, it was announced on Thursday that he will take over the girls basketball program on campus.

“I couldn’t sit at the house. I had to do something,” Johnson said. “Coaching is in my blood. I’ve been out of it for a while, but it’s still there.”
