Browns select Centennial's Kessler in third round

The Cleveland Browns selected USC quarterback Cody Kessler, a Centennial graduate, late in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night in Chicago.

Cleveland used the 93rd overall pick on Kessler, who graduated from Centennial in 2011 and became a three-year starter for USC.

Kessler, a two-time football and one-time basketball BVarsity Player of the Year, had been predicted to go later in the draft by most experts. But the Browns took him six picks before the end of the draft’s second day.
