Mission Viejo starts fast, downs Liberty

It was a night of mistakes, miscues and a whole lot of uh-ohs.

In a much anticipated rematch with Southern Section powerhouse Mission Viejo at Liberty on Saturday night, the Diablos trounced on the Patriots for the first two and a half quarters and beat Liberty 27-14, avenging an 18-7 loss in Week 0 last year.

Diablos quarterback Brock Johnson picked apart the Patriots defense in the first half with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Austin Osborne and a 53-yard scoring strike to Jason Lee, with a touchdown run by Isaiah Miller (27 carries, 143 yards) in between, taking the wind out
