BISHOP Tony Lenz ran for 112 yards and scored three touchdowns, but Frazier Mountain suffered its first defeat of the season, 35-21, in a High Desert League game against Bishop.
The Falcons (5-1, 0-1 HDL) led 14-7 at halftime and were tied at 14 entering the fourth quarter before Bishop scored three touchdowns in the fourth to pull away.
Trailing 21-14, the Falcons were driving for the tying score when Bishop intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown. Bishop tacked on a late TD with less than 3 minutes remaining for a 35-14 advantage.
Lenz scored on two 6-yard runs and a 14-yard reception. Quarterback John Burns was 19-for-30 for 143 with a touchdown and an interception.
The Falcons drove deep into Bishop territory and twice came away without points in the first half.
Lighthouse Christian 37, Clovis Christian 25
CLOVIS Justin Trammell's second touchdown of the game, a 12-yard run in the third quarter, broke a 25-25 tie and put Lighthouse Christian ahead to stay in a 37-25 Central Valley 8-Man League win over Clovis Christian.
Trammell rushed for a game-high 138 yard and added a 53-yard TD run in the first half.
Both teams entered the game with 5-0 records.
Lighthouse quarterback Tommy Franklin ran for a touchdown and completed two TD passes, covering 33 yards to Elijiah Palmer and 30 yards to Spencer Kennedy.
Lighthouse Christian's defense recovered two fumbles and had interceptions by Palmer, Trammell and Alex Alva.
Lighthouse improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.
