Four 'Runners named to Pac-10 all-academic team

WALNUT CREEK -- Four Cal State Bakersfield wrestlers have been named to the 2006 Pac-10 All-Academic Team.

Junior heavyweight Eric Parker was a first-team selection after posting a 3.45 GPA. Parker, who earned second-team honors as a sophomore last season, wrestled to a 25-15 record and placed fourth at the Pac-10 tournament
Senior Brian Busby received second-team honors after posting a 3.14 GPA. Busby wrestled to a 25-12 overall mark and earned a trip to the NCAA tournament this year after narrowly missing out last season.
Also earning second-team recognition were a pair of redshirt freshman, Garth Wara and Thomas Kimbrell. Wara, who has a 3.59 GPA, was 11-9 this season while filling for an injured starter at 174 pounds.
Kimbrell, who has a 3.87 GPA, was also impressive while filling in at 133 pounds, wrestling to a 9-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark in Pac-10 duals.
