The second-seeded Renegades and third-seeded Grossmont College of El Cajon will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Stadium.
Each football team is 10-1 and riding a winning streak. Grossmont has won 10 straight after dropping its season-opener to Mount San Antonio 13-10, and the Renegades have won nine straight since losing their only game to Saddleback, 48-21, Sept. 9.
Saddleback (11-0), the only undefeated team in the state, will host El Camino (9-2) in the other SoCal semfinal Saturday.
"I think it's going to be a real physical football game," BC coach Jeff Chudy said of the Renegades' game with Grossmont. "Both defenses are outstanding. Turnovers and field position will be critical. I see it being a blood bath, honestly."
The Renegades opened the playoffs Saturday with a 36-12 win over Citrus College in the Golden Empire Bowl. Grossmont routed Victor Valley 49-7 in the Southern California Bowl.
Last season, Grossmont beat previously unbeaten City College of San Francisco 41-38 to win the state title in longtime coach Dave Jordan's final game.
Jordan's son, Mike, who was an assistant on his father's staff for 12 years, is in his first year as Grossmont's head coach.
"Last year we had more standout guys, the one or two guys that could change a game by themselves," Mike Jordan said. "This year we're more all-around, we're more solid top to bottom."
Last week's win over Victor Valley was a rematch of a Foothill Conference game played Oct. 21 and won by Grossmont, 16-7.
Quarterback John Soli ran for two touchdowns and threw for four others Saturday to lead the way for Grossmont. The only Victor Valley touchdown was on an interception return.
In its last three games, Grossmont's wins have been by scores of 57-3, 58-0 and 49-7.
BC and Grossmont have one common opponent: College of the Canyons. Grossmont beat Canyons 25-3 on Sept. 9 and BC beat Canyons 33-22 on Sept. 30.
Special ticket outlets set up
Tickets to Saturday's Southern California semifinal playoff game will be on sale today at the BC ticket office but not available after today until 1:30 p.m. Saturday because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Two other Bakersfield locations are also selling tickets: World Records in the Town and Country Shopping Center, located at Gosford Road and Stockdale Highway, and Bakersfield Paint and Wallpaper, 1661 Union Ave.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $6 for students and children.
Plenty of BC all-leaguers
A number of Renegades impressed other head coaches from the Western State Conference North Division.
Twenty Renegades earned first-team, second-team or honorable mention All-WSC honors, according to a release issued by the WSC on Tuesday.
Leading the way were sophomore running back J.R. Rogers and sophomore linebacker Curtis Cornelson, who were named WSC offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively. BC's Jeff Chudy shared coach of the year honors with Moorpark's Jim Bitt-ner.
Other first-team picks from the BC offense were freshman lineman Mike Papac, sophomore tight end Mitchell Horack and sophomore wide receiver T.J. Lee.
Defensive first-teamers were lineman Ron Jones, a sophomore, and freshman Aaron King; freshman linebacker Mark Johnson and sophomore cornerback Kenny Graham.
Second-team picks were sophomore center Isaac Quiroz, freshman offensive lineman Gary Sumlin, freshman kick returner Brandon Banks, freshman linebacker Daron Mackey, and defensive backs Brian Putman, a sophomore, and freshman Jose Gonzales.
Named honorable mention were wide receiver Attrail Snipes, running back Patrick Patterson, place-kicker Will Johnson, defensive lineman Crispin Fernandez and punter Teddy Dellaganna.
BC loses defensive back
Ahearn Lucas, a sophomore cornerback from Delano High School, suffered a broken ankle early in last Saturday's Golden Empire Bowl game. Lucas, who was removed from the field by an ambulance, was able to return to the sidelines, using crutches with his ankle in a cast, by the time the game ended.
Freshmen Dustin Bell and Keith Thompson will be asked to fill in.
