CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT DEALER EXPANDS

Coastline Equipment, an authorized John Deere construction equipment dealer, is expanding with construction of a 10,000-square-foot service shop at 4252 Saco Road, near Highway 99 and Merle Haggard Drive.

That will double the capacity of the repair facility, which will be able to handle larger equipment models, according to a statement from Joe Harrison, the Bakersfield manager. It’s expected to be completed in August.

The contractor for the project is Superior Construction.

SHRED YOUR DOCUMENTS

A free opportunity to shred documents and protect yourself against identity theft will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at West High School, 1200 New Stine Road.

The Better Business Bureau in Central California says you can bring up to six boxes of old bank statements, credit card bills and paper junk for Shred-It, which will provide on-site destruction.

There is a voluntary $3 per box donation for additional boxes that will be given to the Kern County Boys & Girls Club.
