Maricopa officer pleads not guilty in sex with minors case

A Maricopa police officer will return to Kings County Superior Court May 19 on 12 counts of having sex with minors, a clerk said Monday.

Garry Snap Ferguson, 30, has pleaded not guilty to the charges but he will return to court for a continued arraignment and to receive dates for future hearings, the clerk said.
He remains in jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, the clerk said. He was arrested May 3 in Bakersfield on the Kings County charges.
Meanwhile, Ferguson was placed on leave April 20 in a separate case that Maricopa police say is under investigation by the Kern County District Attorney’s staff.
That staff is not commenting on any investigation.
Ferguson has been with the department since 2006.
