Officer Garry Ferguson, 29, is being investigated by the Kern County District Attorney’s office, said Officer Louie Pennie with the Maricopa Police Department.

Pennie would not talk about why Ferguson is being investigated. The allegations involved sexual misconduct, according to KGET-TV, Channel 17.

Ferguson has been with the police department since 2006 and was one of its original officers.

Prior to his administrative leave, Ferguson was officer in charge, according to Pennie.
