Saddle up for 'The Biggest Little Rodeo'

Billed as “The Biggest Little Rodeo in California” for its top-level contestants and big-money prizes, PRCA Stampede Days Rodeo returns to the Kern County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday.

What: 23rd annual PRCA Stampede Days Rodeo
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Gates open 6 p.m.
Where: Kern County Fairgrounds, 1142 S. P St., Union Avenue gate.
Admission: $16 advance, $18 at gate, $22 box seats. Parking $3. Tickets available at Emporium Western Store, 1031 19th St., Granite Station Feed and Tack, 1207 James Road.

The rodeo, in its 23rd year, raises money for training and equipment for the Kern County Sheriff’s Reserve Association, said rodeo committee chairman Richard Frank. About 3,000 to 5,000 spectators attend each year.
