Bakersfield Condors coach Marty Raymond was one of four finalists for that position. The Condors are the ECHL affiliate for the Ducks.
"It was a good experience," Raymond said of the interview process with brass from the Ducks. "They're good people and it was a good interview. It was a really good experience for them to get to know who I am and me to get to know them."
That, Raymond said, is a positive for the Condors, who are affiliated with a National Hockey League team for the first time in their history.
"It strengthened our relationship (with the Ducks) and that's good," Raymond said.
Las Vegas Wranglers coach Glen Gulutzan and former Iowa Stars head coach Dave Allison were the other finalists.
Raymond will attend rookie camp for prospective Ducks players Sept. 14-16 in Las Vegas.
The Condors begin ECHL play Oct. 18.
