HAPPY RETIREMENT
COLLINS CROSBY
Collins Started working
at the age of 11 at Sallie’s Grocery Store (a relative’s market) in Wasco. He worked the cash register when he had to stand up in a box to reach it
Then when he reached high school age he started
working at Justesen’s Market.
In November 1953 he transferred to Lindsey to manage a Justesen’s Market. He stayed in Lindsey until April of 1955 when he was transferred to the Justesen’s Market in Delano. Then in 1956 Justesen’s Market sold and he began working for Purity Market in Delano. Collins worked for Purity Market until 1958.
Then in 1958 Collins went to work for Tops in Wasco. Later he transferred to Shafter to manage Tops Market. He worked at Tops in Shafter for many years.
Than in 1980 he purchased a little country store on Rosedale Hwy. He named this store Crosby’s Market. It was just little country store. But my how he loved working there. He met many wonderful people at this store. Many became his treasured friends, such as Sony, Jim, Wayne, Larry, David, Frank, Harold and Bill. He also was blessed with some valued and dependable employee such as Kathy Southwood, Angela Carter, Tanja, Cheryl and his son Randy, who helped to keep all the machinery running smoothly.
Some of his favorite memories are a little children that have frequented his store over years. Many are now grown up. But he still remembers when they were little and he used to hand out suckers to them.
I’m sure he would like to thank you all, customers, friends, employees and family for your support and friendship over the years.
Collins, we love you and wish
you a
HAPPY RETIREMENT.
Sincerely
Your Family
