Timothy Schmidt, D.M.A.
Congratulations, Dr. Tim!
Timothy Schmidt, D.M.A. has accepted an appointment at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. He will hold the rank of Assistant Professor of Voice, teaching voice and vocal pedagogy. He will also coordinate the opera program. Dr. Schmidt leaves an adjunct position at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, where he has taught since 1996. He holds degrees from Westmont College [B.A.], University of Northern Colorado [M.M.], and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign [D.M.A.]. In 2005 he created and recorded a role in the world-premiere of the opera "Where the Cross is Made," by Nancy Van de Vate, based on a play by Eugene O'Neill. Timothy Schmidt is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gerhard Schmidt of Bakersfield, and is a 1989 graduate of Foothill High School.
