50th Wedding Anniversary
Two Wonderful Worlds Collide
Diane was born on one side of the world – Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. Leo was born on the other side of the world – the Philippine Islands. Fate would lead the New York girl to grow up in the Philippines, and high school is where Filipino boy met girl.
Leo and Diane immigrated to California in 1960 with their first born child, Eileen. The great state of California would bless them with three more children to complete their family of two girls – Eileen and Grace, and two boys – Jerry and Jeff.
Leo and Diane are blessed with five very wonderful grandchildren: Marisa (Grace and Craig’s daughter), Ryan (Eileen’s son), Zane and Jorie (Jeff and Shelly’s son and daughter), and Cameron (Jerry and Mary’s son). Eileen, Jerry, and Jeff live here in Bakersfield with their families, and Grace lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her family.
Family and friends celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of Diane and Leo Caneta. A special blessing is scheduled at St. Francis Catholic Church to honor their golden anniversary, June 22, 1958.
