Engagement Announcement
Lang William Ortman and Amanda Maurine Powell
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Powell are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Maurine to Lang William Ortman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Ortman.
Amanda is a 2002 graduate of Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, with a major in Government. She is currently employed at Strawberry Patches in Bakersfield.
Lang is a 2006 graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Agricultural Business. He is currently employed at Kern Sprinkler Landscaping in Bakersfield.
Lang surprised Amanda with an elaborate proposal in Yosemite. This was followed by a surprise engagement party afterward with family and friends, where they discovered they became engaged on the 40th wedding anniversary of Bill and Suzanne Zingg, the couple who introduced them.
They will be married among family and friends on September 27, 2008 at the Ortman Family residence. The couple will make their home in Bakersfield.
