FAQ

What is Beat the Experts?

Each week a panel of experts from local media will predict the scores of 15 games throughout the football season. The games are chosen from local high school, colleges and professional football teams. The objective for the contestant is to predict more accurately than the "experts." Only online submissions are eligible for consideration.

How to play Beat the Experts?

First you’ll need to register and confirm you’re registration, than we’ll notify you each week by email when new games are posted, or you can check the site on Tuesday afternoons. Games will be posted on Tuesdays and can be played until 5 p.m. Fridays.

How long does Beat the Experts run?
The first game starts on at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4th, and goes to December 30th.

Is it too late to begin playing?
No. Constestants can begin playing any week, and still be eligible to win prizes.

How are winners selected?

Each Tuesday, a weekly winner will be selected by the contestant that correctly predicts the most games wins the weekly contest, as long as his or her total is greater than that of all the expert panelists. If nobody beats the experts, but ties with experts, the contestant will be selected based on tiebreaker. A tiebreaker will be included each week.

The grand prize winner will be selected through a random drawing from all the entries of players that have Beat the Experts through the duration of the contest.

There could be weeks when no one beats the experts. Therefore, no weekly prize or entry into the grand prize are placed.
