Coroner can't say what killed man found in trunk

An autopsy performed Wednesday on a body found in a car trunk has not determined the victim’s cause of death.

Elliott Chase Roe, 25, was found by his grandmother in the trunk of his car parked in the 1600 block of Palm Drive on Tuesday, according to published reports.

Roe had been missing since Thursday night, family members said.

The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology test results.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the suspected homicide.
