Bruce Dale Pinkard was arrested at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday on outstanding parole violations. After being released from prison on drug charges in the late 1980s, Pinkard did not report for parole. He had been eluding officers for 10 years.
When approached by deputy Joseph Malley, Pinkard represented himself as his brother and showed Malley a valid Virginia identification card with his own photo on the card. After investigating, Malley determined he was falsely representing himself.
He was booked Kern County Jail. Pending charges include forgery, falsifying state documents and false identification to a peace officer.
