SEAN HERNDON has joined DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance as an independent insurance broker specializing in life insurance, personal lines, and individual and commercial coverage, the agency announced. The agency was founded in central California in 1960, and is among the state's largest independent agencies.

JANICE CLAUSEN has been selected to be listed in the 2008-09 edition of Montclair Publishing's "Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals." Clausen is an administrator and director of services for students with disabilities at Cal State Bakersfield, She specializes in rehabilitation counseling, disability access and disability awareness training. The publications highlights people of leadership and distinction across the United States and Canada.
AURORA RUSH has been promoted to become the Kern County Waste Management Department's special projects manager, the department announced. A 20-year employee of county government, Rush has for the past nine years supervised the department's Community Education and Outreach Section. Rush earned a master's degree in administration at Cal State Bakersfield, and a bachelor's degree in biology at Southern California College in Costa Mesa.
J.R LEWIS has been appointed residential sales manager at Karpe Real Estate Center, the company announced. A board member at the Bakersfield Association of Realtors, Lewis has five years of experience as a real estate professional. He graduated from Cal State Bakersfield and is a former high school teacher.
CATALIN CHIRA has been named director of tennis/head tennis pro at In-Shape Health Clubs' Laurel Glen facility, the company announced. In that role he is to be responsible for developing the facility's tennis programs, coaching members and teaching techniques. China comes to Bakersfield from Toronto, where the Romania native worked for several tennis clubs and coached players who competed nationally.
KURT RIVERA has signed a contract to continue working for Eyewitness News, KBAK CBS 29 and KBFX FOX 58, to 2011, the company announced. Rivera, a multiple award-winning journalist, worked in markets including Chicago and Detroit before coming to Bakersfield in 1988. He joined the Eyewitness News team in 2004. The stations belong to Fisher Broadcasting-California TV LLC.
DARRELL HARRIS has joined Shinault Baker & Co. Certified Public Accountants. A 1986 graduate of Cal State Bakersfield, Harris has lived in Bakersfield since 1972. He has 20 years of experience as a certified public accountant, spending most of that time as a sole practitioner specializing in individual and business taxation and financial audits.
