Flights added to Los Angeles, Salt Lake City

Two new flights are being added out of Meadows Field, one between Los Angeles and Bakersfield, the other to and from Salt Lake City.

United Airlines is scheduling a third daily flight between Bakersfield and Los Angeles starting June 5, an airport official said Wednesday.
Also, Delta Airlines plans to reinstitute a morning flight to the Utah city in July.
The statements follow this week’s announcement that Mexicana Airlines has indefinitely suspended flights between Bakersfield and Guadalajara because of high fuel costs.
Round-trip fares on the Delta flight to Salt Lake City varied widely depending on July travel dates. Wednesday afternoon, www.delta.com was showing prices anywhere from $212 to $429 round-tip, excluding fees and taxes.
