A Taft man was arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at knife-point.

And a jury deadlocked in the case of a 15-year-old boy's 1994 murder.

And check out whose cases are just beginning — it's Thursday's arrest log.

The Meridain Police Department in Idaho on Monday were called to a home where they found a body. Police found the bound remains of Douglas Halpin in a “bloody crime scene,” Lt. Tracy L. Basterrechea of the Meridian Police Department said.

Early Wednesday morning, Meridian Police arrested Karen La Nae Miller, 41, in Nampa, Idaho for first degree kidnapping in connection with the homicide. Miller had been back and forth from Bakersfield, Basterrechea said.

Then at 1 p.m. Thursday, Bakersfield detectives arrested a second suspect –– Stanley Jackson Hahn Jr., 44, of Bakersfield –– on second-degree kidnapping charges. Hahn surrendered himself to Bakersfield Police.

Kidnapping charges are being made because “Halpin was held against his will using force,” Basterrechea said. More charges are pending, he said.

Halpin's missing pick-up truck, a 1996 white Ford F250, was also found Wednesday afternoon in Hawthorne, Nevada by Nevada Highway Patrol. The truck is currently being transferred to the Meridian Police.

Miller is being held in Ada County Jail in Idaho. Hahn is booked in Kern County Jail. Two Meridian detectives are currently in Bakersfield.
