Highway 46 closed temporarily for inspection

Caltrans closed Highway 46 at Highway 99 near Wasco Thursday so crews could inspect the route’s bridge.

Workers found damage to the bridge from an unreported collision, according to Caltrans. The bridge will be temporarily closed to ensure safety to the pubic for about a week, according to the CHP.
Caltrans could not be reached Thursday for comment.
Kimberlina and Whisler Roads are recommended as alternate routes.
