Four men accused of shooting woman to keep her from testifying

Police arrested four men accused of shooting a woman to prevent her from testifying in court about a home robbery.

Brandie Nye, 33, was found early Monday morning at the mouth of the Kern Canyon on Highway 178 after being shot in the head.
Nye was in serious condition Tuesday at Kern Medical Center. She was arrested March 3 in connection with a robbery at a home in the 1400 block of White Lane. She was staying at the victim's home at the time of the robbery.
Alfredo Palacios, 25, and his three relatives, Miguel Angel Santiago, 35, Luis Manuel Vaca Jr., 18, and Christian Diaz Vargas, 21, were arrested in connection with the shooting of Nye.
Palacios was one of the people arrested in the robbery that police believe did not want Nye to testify about in court.
The four men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy and gang participation.
