U.S. Army Pfc. Jamin Moore suffered burns on more than 60 percent of his body Dec. 4 when the Humvee he was riding in was struck by a roadside bomb. Three fellow soldiers died in the explosion.

Moore, a 21-year-old Liberty High School graduate and a former Cal State Bakersfield student, was being treated at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

He was recently released and will undergo physical therapy for a year and a half, according to Moore’s stepbrother, Logan Elms.

“He still has a lot of work to do,” Elms said.

Elms did not know when the soldier will return to Bakersfield.
