A 39-year-old hitchhiker died Sunday afternoon after he was hit by a semi-truck on Highway 58.

The man, who is from Las Vegas, Nev., was in the westbound lane of the highway near Highway 202 in Tehachapi when he was struck by the vehicle, according to the Kern County coroner's office. The semi-truck had two utility trailers.
The hitchhiker was not identified.
