The victim was a 61-year-old man who lives in the 1400 block of White Lane, police said.
He was reportedly awakened shortly before 5:40 a.m. Monday by a female friend, later identified as Brandie Nye, 33, of Bakersfield, who had been staying with him for two days.
She told him there were some people there to talk to him. He went to the living room where one of two men pointed a gun at him and ordered him to lay on the floor, police said.
The second man tied the victim up and went through his pockets and stole money. One man stabbed the victim's dog, causing a minor injury.
The victim, who was not injured, reported the two men threatened the woman and forced her to go with them when they left.
About 10 a.m., police learned that Nye was at the Starlighter Motel, 900 Union Ave.
Officers saw one of the suspects who attempted to run away, but he was found hiding under a trailer in a nearby trailer park.
Police said they found a .32-caliber handgun the suspect threw away during the chase.
Police then found Nye and the second suspect in the room, and an investigation showed that Nye was an associate of the men, officers reported. Detectives also found a small amount of methamphetamine in the room, a news release said.
Nye was arrested on charges of conspiracy, burglary, robbery, narcotics and gang charges.
