Last month, the governor proposed a budget that would strip education funding across the state of about $4.8 billion over the rest of this year and next.
The legislature will propose its own budget in coming months but district budgets are typically completed long before the state budget is finalized.
The budget shortfall has many districts looking at staff and program cuts. State law requires them to notify teachers of layoffs by March 15. The meeting is 6:30 p.m., at 1300 Baker St.
