Kern Republicans to open new headquarters

The Kern County Republican Party will open a regional headquarters in Bakersfield with a grand opening ceremony 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday.

The headquarters is at 5601 Truxtun Ave., Suite 225, at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Mohawk Street. It will serve as a hub for phone banking and door-to-door canvassing as the party works to elect Republicans this November.
Scheduled to be at the ceremony are state Sen. Roy Ashburn; Assemblywoman Jean Fuller; Bakersfield City Council members Zack Scrivner, Ken Weir and Jacquie Sullivan; 20th District congressional candidate Jim Lopez; and Julie Griffiths, campaign manager for 30th District Assembly candidate Danny Gilmore.
